Bill Kelly was raised on a small 40 acre farm in Northwest Ohio were he learned the basics of living off the land. As the sense of adventure pulled Bill and his brother Kevin (Kelly Bros. Painting) to Tahoe, their curiosity of bringing farming to the mountains expanded. In 2006 they were able to purchase a 20 acre parcel of land in the Tahoe/Truckee Area. They started out planting several raised beds of fruits and vegetables. As knowledge of their local climate grew, the need for alternative growing mediums increased. The success of their local painting business allowed them to purchase a Growing Dome, a self-sustaining, 850sqft greenhouse. The dream of bringing farming to the mountains in now a reality. With the addition of a farm manager and partners with local food banks, the Kelly Brothers are truly bringing family farming to Tahoe.
